CATZ-FAQ
- Q:Darkening and discoloration on the edge of the mousse surface?
- The product material will also add animal cartilage, which is rich in collagen, and also increase the gelatin of the product. The product does not contain any additives, not even additional salt (some brands add extra salt as an antioxidant), so the surface edge of the product may sometimes appear darker or appear a little gray, this is not because the product is bad, it is because there is no additional additives, before the can is completely closed the product contact with the air and make its color a little darker, this is normal.
- Q:Why does the sum of the analyzed components sometimes exceed 100%? Is this a mistake?
- When the percentages of the individual components analyzed are added up, the sum of the components of some flavor products may exceed 100 percent. Although this is mathematically impossible, this list is completely correct. The reason for this is that we use purely natural ingredients, which fluctuate slightly depending on the natural seasons. Therefore, for some flavors we use an analytical ratio of the ingredients that we calculate as an average, so that the sum of the percentages of the individual ingredients may exceed 100%. Our products do not use any poorly formed meat or artificial stabilizers or preservatives, and all raw materials are processed in their natural state. Therefore, some meat ingredients are leaner than others, while others contain more fat and water. In order to be able to neutralize these natural fluctuations and to give a representative value, an average value is calculated. This is legally allowed in Germany.
- Q:Is catz finefood tested on animals?
- No, catz finefood does not do any animal testing! All our products are made without a background in animal testing and we take following this principle very seriously.
- Q:Why is there a slight visual difference in the appearance of catz finefood products?
- Because catz finefood products are purely natural, they are subject to natural seasonal fluctuations. Our high quality requirements mean that we do not use any formed meat, artificial stabilizers or meat powders. Usually products with these three additives are formed to look exactly the same. We don't use them, so it also results in our products not necessarily having a uniform appearance. Just like the ingredients we use in our own cooking, sometimes the same part of meat is lean and firm, and sometimes it is soft and fatty. The only way to have a product with the same shape is to add chemical stabilizers and form the meat, and we don't use these additives.
- Q:Where do the raw materials for the products come from?
- We would be pleased to share with you information about the procurement of our raw materials. Our principle is that our production sites confirm compliance with all regulations for the use of animal raw materials throughout the production chain. In addition, we generally purchase our raw materials from the nearest regional producers in order to avoid the need to transport fresh raw materials over long distances. Likewise for animal husbandry, feeding and slaughtering we ensure compliance with the current animal protection laws. We hope you will understand that it is difficult to provide detailed information on all individual farms and ranches and breeders because of the large number of producers we have to source our raw materials from. However, the quality of our products is absolutely there to comply with food safety. We subject all raw materials for processing to strict quality control at every level before we allow further processing. In addition, we source different types of wild meat from hunters including: deer, elk, wild boar, pheasant and rabbit. Of course, we also pay attention to the seasonal breeding time of wild animals when sourcing to maintain ecological balance.
- Q:Is sugar added to the product?
- No, catz finefood products do not have added sugar, sugar substitutes or sweeteners. Only small amounts of carbohydrates and fructose are contained in the raw ingredients of the food.
- Q:Why is there more meat jelly in some cans than in others?
- Meat jelly is formed during the cooking process, and the amount of meat jelly is related to the amount of moisture content of our ingredients. Because we use the freshest ingredients of the day to make our cat food, the moisture content of fresh ingredients is affected by the natural seasons. For example, the moisture content of meat ingredients produced during the warmer months of the year is greater than when the weather is colder.
- Q:The values given by catz finefood for some minerals (e.g. calcium and phosphorus) are within a certain range, is there a more accurate value?
- Since we resist the use of any artificial stabilizers, additives and especially formed meats, it is not always possible to produce a perfectly homogeneous product. Within the production of one product sometimes one meat ingredient has slightly more fat, and the next meat ingredient may have a slightly different ratio of meat to offal. Therefore, the mineral content is subject to some fluctuations and can only give an allowable range. However, after a long statistical analysis, we have also calculated average values as follows: Calcium: approx. 0.23% Phosphorus: approx. 0.18% Note: The values given are calculated averages, so individual products may vary within this range.
- Q:Can catz finefood be used to feed cats with kidney disease?
- catz finefood product is designed to meet the nutritional needs of healthy cats. As such, it is not a prescription food, so we cannot recommend it as a food for cats with kidney disease. There are many crucial factors when feeding a cat with weak kidneys: individual metabolism, blood levels and severity of disease. Therefore only your vet can assess and advise on food for cats, please consult them.
- Q:Is catz finefood suitable for cats with diabetes?
- Although we are not a prescription food, we have received feedback from many cat owners who have observed a positive effect on their cats' diabetes after feeding them catz finefood products. We attribute this to our excellent formula and the high quality of the ingredients. Due to the high carbohydrate content of rice and potatoes, we recommend not to feed your diabetic cat with products number 9, 15 and 21 from the Classic range. We also recommend to consult your vet before switching to catz finefood products.

- Q:How should I store catz finefood? How long after opening can I use it?
- Please store sealed jars in a cool, light-free place. The ideal storage temperature is 10-18°C, but we have not found any variation in the food over 3 years of storage at a moderate temperature of 23°C. Once opened, we recommend storing in the refrigerator in a sealed container (e.g. with a lid) and using within the next 24 hours.
- Q:What is the process and procedure of making canned food? Why are some canning lids squeezed out of shape? Sometimes when opening the cans, they sometimes spray out?
- The manufacturing process of this product is different from other cans. First, we will coarsely grind all the ingredients, then we will evenly mix all the grinded ingredients together, in the mixing process, because the ingredients are relatively large particles, so there will be small air bubbles between the particles. Since we first fill and seal the cans with freshly ground ingredients at low temperature before steaming at higher temperature to reduce the water vapor from steaming to take away the nutrients and leave all the nutrients in the cans, while this move can avoid any bacteria from being generated again. Therefore, the air entering the can at low temperature increases in volume after the can returns to room temperature, resulting in a slight increase in the can, and the contents will be sprayed out when the can is opened at room temperature, which is a normal phenomenon and does not change the quality of the product. It is recommended that each time you open a can, you put a paper towel at the pull ring to reduce the impact of the contents of the spray.
- Q:Is catz finefood suitable for kittens?
- catz finefood is made with the natural food of feral cats, the ancestors of today's domestic cats. Therefore, catz finefood products contain a lot of fresh meat, supplemented with fruits, vegetables, wild vegetables and oils. It does not contain any genetically modified materials, as well as artificial stabilizers, flavors and preservatives, making it a very healthy recipe for cats, but there are no special ingredients added to the catz finefood range specifically for kittens. We usually have at least two theories of kitten food nutrition. One is based on the situation of ingredients in wild cats, as kittens do not have access to any special and particular ingredients in the wild, and after stopping breastfeeding, kittens eat the same food as adult cats. And the other theory is based on the results of research on the different nutritional needs of kittens and adult cats. The nutritional theory you follow depends on you. catz finefood products follow the first theory, so we believe that catz finefood products can be given to independent eating kittens and there is no nutritional imbalance.
- Q:Is it unhealthy to have a lot of gum as well as oil when opening the Classic and Preferred series?
- Catz finefood Classic and Hypoallergenic products are guaranteed to be free of gums, both artificial and natural, and the suspected gelatinous material you see is the gliadin protein isolated from the ingredients themselves. The white fat particles are also the meat fats separated from the ingredients, which are counted in the protein and fat content of the cans and are not excessive. Therefore, there is no need to worry about the intake of these two substances affecting your cat's health, and you are recommended to scoop up all the substances inside the can and give it to your cat to ensure the complete intake of canned nutrition. When serving, add a little hot water to stir the can to obtain a more uniform puree, which will also make catz finefood more delicious.
- Q:Why is there a limited use date on the outer packaging and no production date?

- Q:The Classic Series and the Best Series will have larger particles of ingredients, will they choke the cat?
- Cats are primitive in their nature to tear at food to eat, and in the wild, cats can tear at and eat an entire small animal. If your cat is young or not used to chewing food, larger ingredients will be left behind and not eaten by your cat, rather than being forcibly swallowed. However, if you are very worried about your cat choking on larger particles, you can also choose catz finefood's Fine Series Staple Cat Meal Boxes, which contain finely ground ingredients to eliminate your worries.
- Q:Is it normal to have multiple formats of limited use date printing codes as well as blurred cases?
- The problem of inconsistent date printing code format is mainly caused by the fact that our products are produced on multiple production lines, and the production lines are introduced at different times, resulting in different spray code formats. Part of the blurred spray code is due to the completion of the spray code is not dry immediately after the package, in the process, part of the product caused by the occurrence of rubbing. For products that do not see the date of expiration clearly, you can find the store where you bought it for free replacement or return. At the same time we will also improve in this area as soon as possible.
